A family member took her 2000 Buick Century into a repair facility to get an alignment. They changed a inner tie rod on the driver side. The technician forgot to slide what looks like a plastic retainer back into place and the rack n pinion is now leaking fluid from that side. The steering is now grabbing or jerking to the left. What has happen? Can this problem be fixed or does the rack n pinion need to be replaced? Thanks for any advice you may have.
