my son’s 1999 volvo wagon rear door won’t open. is there any easy solution to this. i have gotten the door panel off, mostly, and can get to the latch mechanism except where it is important. help!

You likely didn’t get a response due to the fact you already got access to the mechanism.
The only suggestion I can make is go to a wrecking/recycling yard and find a similar vehicle with a rear door (hatch?) open and remove its panel so you can get a better visual on the mechanism and thus find a way to open yours.
