I have a 1999 Toyota Corolla which is leaking power steering fluid through the cap, it runs down the container until it is empty. What can be causing this? I have degreased the area to make sure it is not a hose and it alsways comes out from underneath the cap (both cap seals are intact.
Sounds like either a bad pump or a stuck valve/restriction somewhere is allowing pressure to back up and force the fluid out of the reservoir.
Thanks for your prompt answer. When you say stuck valve/restriction, do you mean the power steering oil pressure switch or is the a separate unit where valves are housed?
