1999 Plymouth Voyager

A friend has a 1999 Plymouth Voyager with an automatic transmission. He says the car will not shift after he warms it up in the morning but if he just jumps in and starts out cold it shifts just fine even after it warms up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks loads in advance!!

He most likely has the 41TE 4-speed transaxle, and it’s going into “limp home” mode after it warms up. He needs to get the transmission control module scanned for error codes and CVI values (a measure of clutch wear) pronto. It could be something very simple, but continued operation could wreck the transaxle.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just called him and told him what you said to do. I will post the outcome if he ever tells me what happend.
