I just bought a 1999 Jaguar XJ8L with only 53K original documented miles. Drives fine, but yesterday, while driving, got a message that came up on the dash that indicated “restricted performance”. Did not seem to affect the driving, except for one point, when I tried to accelerate, the car hesitated some. Light goes on and off since then. Anyone experience a similar problem? I would also like to know recommendations for competent, honest Jaguar mechanics in either Ellicott City or Annapolis areas. Let me know your recommendations. Thank you in advance.
