New today: when I turn off the ignition and lock the car, the dome light stays on. When I start the car, the open door alarm will not turn off. It gets a lot quieter, but it stays on, and the dome light stays on as well. I recently had maintenance done and had the water pump replaced, but I don’t see how these could be related? Any suggestions? I’d settle for pulling the alarm, if it doesn’t break anything else.
Best guess of mine is a bad door sensor switch. in many cars it is a button on the front door jamb that gets pushed closed when the door is closed, if you can find it try working it manually and see if it is sticking etc.
I pushed it all the way in, but I could still hear the alarm, just very faint.
