Once this is repaired, I might might a suggestion to prevent future problems with this. It’s been found that the throw so to speak is a bit long with the lever operation. It’s a common problem with the Marks and everyone goes through it but at 24 years old it’s had a good life.

Try to avoid setting the EATC temp controls to either end of the spectrum (60 to 90 degrees in this case) as that can cause breakage due to being forced.
Set the controls at say 61-62 to 88-89 degrees, that will alleviate the forcing part of the problem, and will not cause any noticeable change in the output air temps
