Leaks, maybe? And since this a 20 year old truck, it still may be burning oil even though it doesn’t leave a blue cloud behind when you drive.
Mysterious oil loss on those Magnum engines can be caused by a leaking intake manifold belly pan gasket.
Remove the PCV valve and install a vacuum/pressure gauge in the PCV valve cove port, with the engine idling briefly block the breather port or breather hose and check for vacuum in the crank case. There should be no vacuum but perhaps 0.5 pound of pressure after 20-30 seconds.
