Let’s start from the top . . .

What fault codes do you have?

And what steps did you take, to address the problem(s) . . . ?

What engine?

Some codes will come back instantly as soon as you start the engine if the problem still exists, others have to wait for the system they are associated with to self test before they come back. So you may be resetting them, it just doesn’t do any good unless you fix the problem.

How long did you leave the battery disconnected? 15-30mins should do it.

Usually a component that is disconnected will do that… The code will point you directly toward what this could be.

code is p1336
changed crankshaft sensor
try to clear with ob2 and no go
tied battery no go

code is p1336
changed crankshaft sensor
try to clear with ob2 and no go
tied battery no go
left battery disconnected for 4 hrs

So the important question to ask would be; Does the truck start and run?

yes it runs fine
the only thing that may help is its running cooler than normal
think thermostat is stuck

Running cooler than normal would light the cel and throw a different code. Have you had the codes read lately?

P1336 is “Crankshaft position system variation not learned”.

You need a diagnostic scan tool to perform the learn procedure, the engine must be at least 150 degrees to perform this.

read them today

will try when i have access to scan tool
thanks
