IF you are planning to do this to the 97 ford truck you can use used cooking oil. but you will need to start with a diesel engine. here is some info below. as far as lifting the truck, they sell lift kits. you can look at utube videos to see how it is done.

That would be the first step, replacing the gas engine with a diesel.
In my mind, none of the modifications the OP mentioned are worthwhile.
The only one, if this truck is a 4X4 in very good condition and off-roading is frequent, a mild lift with appropriate tires might be of use.
This needs a more detailed explanation. Hauling fire wood? Going into the woods to camp or hunt? Serious off-roading in a forested area?
If inches are the goal for a lift then the water is already too deep for this old truck to drive through .
