Hey guys. My engine has this constant squeal. I don’t think it’s the belts…not sure. Hoping nothing major. Do you happen to have any ideas what it could be? I have a Dodge Ram 1500 (1997). Thank you.

Have you taken the belts off to see if the noise is still there?
Presuming the engine is running normally, a lot of possibilities. First determine what is it that affects the squeal, and how. Idling at idle rpm, then idling at increased rpm, driving at different speeds in various forward gears, then in reverse, coasting, etc. Next use a short length of old garden hose as a stethoscope to narrow down where it is coming from .
