1996 Lexus GS 300 Great Car

My Black GS 300 has 113K miles and I want some feedback on why the car shifting into reverse in the morning especially, has a noticable kick, even when I have my foot on the brake. When backing up, it moves backward a little faster that normal. Is this an indication of something bigger?

Have your motor mounts and transmission mounts checked. It sounds like one or more of the mounts may be broken.

Have you noticed where the tachometer needle is reading before and after shifting into reverse. If the RPM is excessively high (more than 1500 rpm), have the Coolant Temperature Sensor checked for calibration. Also have the throttle body, Idle Air Control pintle, and idle air passages cleaned.

Post back with the tach numbers and we can go from there.
