A close friend recently offered my a 1995 Toyota Corolla for $400. Body is in good shape and only has 92000 miles. It’s a manual transmission. Problem is it doesn’t go into any gear, including reverse. No strange noises, no feeling of it going into gear. The clutch master cylinder fluid level is OK, and I can see the slave move. When moving from gear to gear, I visibly see mechanism move at the tranny. A check engine light is on. Is it worth purchasing the car?
YOu need to have it checked by a mechanic to see what else is wrong besides the clutch; only then can you make a good decision.
