My 1994 volvo 240 stalls at idle when the engine is warm. It’s happening more frequently as the weather gets colder, I’m not sure if that’s a coincidence. The car is an automatic and I’m wondering if it could be something as simple as low transmission fluid.
Thank you in advance
Low transmission fluid is easy to check. Just warm the car up, leave it running in Park with the brake on on a level surface and pull the dipstick. However, I doubt that is the problem. You may need a tune-up, including plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Or, it could be a gunked up throttle body and IAC. Or, it could be a vacuum leak from a rotten vacuum line. The car is 20 years old, so any of this and maybe more is possible.
