1994 Chevy Lumina

Good Evening,

My rear driver’s side break light and turn signal is inoperative.

My mechanic says to repair it would require a “multi-function switch” for about $150 and an additional $150 for labor…total approx: $300.

Does that sound accurate and reasonable?

Thanks so much!

The multi-function switch is not the problem. That’s because the turn signal and brake lights work off seperate circuits.

The problem is more likely with either the power circuit or the ground circuit for the rear driver side tail light.

Find another mechanic.

I like the ground problem theory. I would also replace the light, even if it looks OK.

Thanks everyone!
