1990 Toyota Pickup coolant leak

I’ve an old Uhaul Toyota box truck & it is leaking coolant from the back of the engine, looks & smells (aas it hits the exhaust xover) like from the top, just under the intake plenum.

There are a bunch of heater related hoses back there, under the plenum. Anyone ever see this before & know if the solution is cheap?

Also, what’s the story w/using red coolant? Is that really important?

Thanks

Yes and no.

Yes, I’ve seen coolant hoses leak and no, the red coolant isn’t important in that year model, OEM was the old green stuff. The new universals are just fine.

If YOU find the leak and fix it, the solution will be cheap. If you pay a mechanic to do it, it might not be so cheap…
