1984 AMC eagle 4 door sedan Good car to buy?

I know a lot less about cars than I like to admit. I am thinking of buying a 1984 AMC eagle sedan. This would become my all purpose car. It has under 100,000 original miles. The up keep as far as I can tell is excellent. Battery within a year. Rebuilt corroborator within 2 yrs. But I am wondering if due to the age it this is a car I would be able to use as a every day car? Or is it risky to relay on a car this age to get me from point A all the way to point E? I have included a picture I found off the internet that looks like the car to give you a good idea of what I am talking about.
