1970 Nissan Datsun 1600 Fairlady - Seeking mechanic

I need a mechanic in the Albuquerque, NM area who works on Datsuns, specifically, a 1070 510 wagon.

Check with Datsun forums, car clubs in your area, Google, Yelp, ask around at car shows, that kind of thing.

@RandomTroll lives in Albuquerque and drives an old truck. Maybe he has connections to mechanics that work on 1970s cars. I just sent a Bat Signal to him and maybe he’ll answer.

Mechanics? I don’t need no stinkin’ mechanics! I’ve done all my own work - not to recommend my skill. A late acquaintance took his old Toyota to Jim’s, but Jim retired. Reddit - The heart of the internet has some knowledgeable people

Fairlady is a 2 seat sports car that resembles an MGB. It is not a 510 wagon.

Depending on the issue, you don’t need any specific mechanic. Nissan/Datsuns aren’t magical or mysterious. They’re basic old cars.

Ask around for a locally owned shop with a good reputation - and if you can find one with an old gray-haired to balding geezer mechanic who hasn’t retired yet, then all the better.

… and, based on our family’s experience with them, they were crap. The Fairlady was the name of the SPL310 in other countries.

I didn’t mean mechanics that you use, just met along the way through your ancient pickup. Given your response above (#7), I guess not.
