Just wanted to verify for safety that these are the correct jack points on an 07 chrysler town n country. Ill be using a 3ton floor jack at the motor mount bracket. Is the crossmember another good jack point? Will be placing the jacks onto the frame as seen in the pics. Thank you! Due to being a new member it would only allow me to post 1 picture sadly.
No, do not jack the car up under the engine mount. It is not designed to take the entire weight of that section of car and is also designed to work in compression from above not lifting from below.
The proper lifting points are outlined in the Owner’s Manual. Here 's an excerpt:
Here’s a link to a copy of the Owner’s Manual in case you don’t have it:
I always set the lift on the box channels you indicated in your picture, they are stronger than the rocker panel pinch welds. The spare tire jack is designed to use the pinch welds because that location is easy to reach with a flat tire.
Note that the front/center engine mount on the core support is shown as a floor jack lifting location.
Sorry but thess illustrations are vague. Basically what i want to to do is lift the whole front up and place it on jackstands. This can be aquired by lifting at thst front cross memember right after the oilpan and thriwing jacks under the main frame where i showed in the picture above. Correct? Also thank you
You again?
