I bought this van used and live in the Northeast. I have heard an option is to ditch the run flats for regular all seasons.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I don’t like runflats. They are expensive, don’t last very long, and aren’t the best performing tires. However, if you switch to normal tires, what do you have for a spare?
+1
Virtually any decent-quality all-season tire will outperform those run-flats in terms of handling and–most importantly–tread life. And, they will do it at a much lower price.
However, then you have to figure out where you are going to place a spare tire, since there is no hardware for securing the spare.
I would dump the run flats and start with a good tyre for your driving needs and local weather conditions. I believe you will need new rims, but they are not all that expensive.
Carry a can of Fix-a-flat or something
