I have a 2005 automatic ford focus. Every now and then my car will not go all the way into park and I’m unable to turn the ignition off all the way and get my key out. Any advice? Thanks!
Maybe a problem with the parking pawl not lining up in the tranny or perhaps a maligned linkage.
Then again it may be something else altogether eh? Just guessing.
I do eventually get it all the way into park by go through the gears back and forth. I have to slam it back into park and then it releases. Does this maybe narrow it down?
replace the shifter cable.
