Good for you for solving it. Just curious if there’s a way to temporarily disable the front driveshaft in 2WD? Can a u-joint or something be disconnected or removed so the front wheels can still turn normally but the drive shaft doesn’t? I had to do that w/my 4WD truck one time, only in my case I disabled the rear driveshaft so the rear differential couldn’t didn’t turn from motor power, only the front drive output of the xfer case was making the truck move. If so, next time it happens that might be a way to isolate what’s causing the noise.
