1995 Chevy Lumina Overheating Problem

My car overheats on very short distances- about 1 mile. However, if I turn to the right or left, the car’s temperature goes back to normal. It also seems to work fine if my heater is working. However, if the heater is blowing cold air then the engine is also going to overheat. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem may be?

It sounds like trapped air and maybe a bad thermostat. When was the last time you had a flush and fill.

If you’re still running the original DexCool coolant in this engine, you need a cooling system service NOW!

Tester

That certainly sounds right. However Tester has a good point.
