I’ve got a 99 Ford Escort ZX2. Recently it has started hard shifting between 1st and 2nd (a noticeable little slam). It has an automatic transmission and seems only to do it on a cold start (after sitting overnight or all day at the park and ride). Had the transmission serviced and it still does it. Any ideas? The other thing is that the car tends to idle real rough, almost like a race car. Worn engine mounts? Any advice would be appreciated.
