Wiring or trunk open sensor switch problem?

The trunk light stopped working in my 2005 Camry. I tried replacing the bulb, but that didn’t help. The owner’s manual indicates that the fuse for the trunk light is the same one for many of the car interior lights, and those lights are all working. This leads me to conclude that either the switch which senses the trunk being open is broken, or some relevate wire is broken or disconnected. Before resorting to a bringing the car to a mechanic, I was wondering if people had any good advice as to how I might further diagnose and hopefully fix the problem myself.

It’s the switch.

Find it and either get it working again
or replace it.

97.45% certain it is the switch at the trunk. Some are easy to replace (most?) and some seem next to impossible. Good Luck,
