Winter winshield washer fluid

I don’t go into the snow zone any more. But, when we first retired we did from time to time. And, in McAllen there was no winter fluid available. So, I had to work my way north without using the washers and buy some when I got north. I bought a good supply and used nothing else on the 2002 Sienna.

The problem is the Mexican car of course only has summer fluid. I am not sure it will ever go north, since with Mexican plates I will spend most of the time held at gun point by HP. :smiley:

My fluid on my work truck is doing the freeze on windsheild symptom. Now we use nothing but winter acceptable stuff but wondering if alcohol dissipates over time making it less effective. Probably a couple of years since any fluid has been added, as I do not use the washer system that often.

Absolutely…by far, as the tanks breathes, the air coming out has much more methanol than water vapor.
