I’ve stored my '07 Mustang convertible for the winter. I’ve filled the tank and added gas stabilizer, and have covered the car. It’s kept in a friend’s garage with a trickle charger on the battery. Is it also advisable to put the vehicle up on blocks to get weight off the springs and tires, or is that unnecessary?
Not necessary for a few months storage.
Blocks were necessary when I was a kid in the days before and early in the radial tyre days. Today it is not needed. It will do one thing however, it makes it harder to steal as will removing the battery and taking it into your basement along with the charger. Don’t forget that you can cancel collusion insurance but keep the comprehensive. That can save you quite a few $ ? ? ?
