Whirring Sound

,

We don’t get very cold winters in San Diego, but lately, when I drive my car before the engine warms up and I make right turns, I hear a whirring sound and it feels like the steering wheel vibrates a little. It’s done it when I make left turns but very seldomly - I not because I only make right turns :-)! It has 102K miles on it. But it seems that when the engine has warmed up a bit, the sounds goes away - for the most part. Then it does it only if I take a corner at a sharp angle.

Any idea what could be causing the sound before I take it in?

The first thing to check is the condition of the belts, and make sure power steering fluid is filled to specifications.
