Last night my 98 chevy Lumina began emitting a whining noise and burning smell when I accelerated. The power steering fluid needed changed and I just did that. The fluid is now clear and the burning smell is gone but the whining continues. Any ideas? Thanks

Whining sound means damage to the pump has already happened. Changing the fluid was a good try, but I fear a bit too late.
