First of all, if you only have $13000 to spend, and need 5-6 passsenger seating do not buy an SUV! I would go for a Mazda 6, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata (most car for the money), Chevrolet Malibu or a good used Ford Crown Victoria. You can get a Hyundai or Crown Vic with relatively low mileage and in very good shape for that. Especially from a private sale.

The two cars you were considering cost too much for the useful life you are getting. Any 4 wheel drive vehicle is more expensive to operate and maintain than a 2 wheel drive vehicle.

You can find newer Honda Accords in that price range, if you don’t need AWD.

I bought a loaded 06 Buick Rendezvous CXL Plus (engine/wheel upgrade)in 08 for 14K. It was absolutely mint with 40K miles. I bought it at a dealership. It runs great and is still under factory warranty. I would try to keep looking. There are better deals out there.
