Here you go, Purebred!
I think I saw a new Corvette ZR1 this morning while I was biking. No photos as I was on my bike. I base the model on the size of the wing in the back. Porsche blue.
I guess that the current economy must be working for some people, because I saw a Rolls-Royce Ghost sedan this afternoon. And, just like the RR Spectre coupe that I saw last week, it was being driven very aggressively, bordering on recklessly.
It looked just like this one but with teal-colored
upholstery.
Tuesday I saw a Mini Moke motoring around on Captiva Island. Regular Florida registration, not vintage plates. Since the last ones were built in 1993, it is legal to import to the US.
Moke America sells new ev mokes to order. Mainly a choice of colors and interior including wicker seats. Like the new Myers manx its more for fun but could be a daily driver.
Iāve driven golf carts that are bigger. ![]()
Wow, hard to believe that thing can pass any type of side impact testing. The front and rear bumpers look to be the most robust elements of that design ![]()
Clearly it is a death trap on wheels. But once it hits 25 years old, Welcome Deathtrap!
Considering how many golf carts I see illegally running on the streets down here, a Moke seems no worseā¦
How much different would it really be than a Smart car on the interstate having a wreck??
Or bring Tboned by a full size truck going 40 mph??
Quite a bit, I seem to remember Mercedes/Smart went out of their way to create as safe a small car as they could. Canāt fight mother nature, of course.
Yep, liked all of them, Dodge had the best two tone options. Unfortunately the poor quality of the 57s hurt sales. 59 was the last year of the TV series Highway Patrol, Dan drove a 59 Dodge.
I have never seen a 59, any trim line nor a 60 full size Dodge. My first car was a 60 Dart 2dr sedan, only options, 318, TorqueFlite, and pushbutton AM radio.
That had the big A318, not to be confused with the later LA 318 (273, 318, 340 and 360) and much later Magnum enginesā¦
Theyāll need a couple extra handfuls of kitty litter during cleanup. Might also take a little longer to find you with less cage to contain the messā¦

Saw an original mini in traffic awhile ago. Makes a modern BMW based one look huge.
Thereās two influences behind the growth in size of the same model:
- Increased safety features, both structural and technology based.
- Average size of adult drivers have increased during the last 50 years.
Iāve never seen it lift. It bottoms out on traffic bumps. I see the guy drive it for a few minutes at a time. He may have gotten the same grief from the parking enforcer. It has no bed. Only recently did he add the piece of plywood with the cooler on top. He has had a for-sale sign on it.
Iāve seen this parked in his driveway for 20 years. It was facing the other way last week, so maybe he drives it sometimes. He has a beautiful Airstream and a non-working old Dodge pickup next to it.
Are people allowed to sleep in the parking lot?
I believe people refer to the cargo box as the ābedā.
The cargo box has no floor, it was removed to accommodate rear axle clearance and the fuel cell (tank).
Is bed an exotic term for it? Iāve slept in mine many a night, though not at home.
Thanks. I hadnāt thought about it. Iāve never heard a gasoline tank called a cell.
Correct.
Nearly everyone I know calls that part of a pickup the bed. WeatherTech even expanded their product line to include bed liners.
