What if we had made a safety-suit/device that protected one sixteen year old girl (who crashed into a tree and died in Uniontown last summer)? I don’t believe for a second we are incapable of designing and manufacturing some additional safety feature that could have prevented her death, you know? If she was my daughter, I’d be eternally grateful to those who invented whatever it was that saved her life.
Hockey players once scoffed at the idea of wearing helmets. Football players would have had fewer brain damaging collisions if the rules had changed decades ago (and if their helmets were better designed to absorb impact.)
There must be a way we can introduce new contraptions, using modern technology, to reduce the damage caused by car crashes. Must be.
