My son drives a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. after driving in heavy snow he developed what sounds like a scraping noise in the rear wheels. Anyone know what it might be? we removed the frozen slush and ice but the noise is still there.
did you remove the wheel to make sure you got it all? The other thing could be the brake caliper or a slide pin is stuck. Or if you have drum rear brakes the cylinder is stuck. You will have to remove the wheel to confirm this.
Jack it up and slowly spin the wheel and listen and see if it feels like the brake is dragging.
its really cold here so we removed just what could be gotten at easily. I will jack it up tomorrow and rotate the tire as you suggested. thanks for the help
