Wheel bearings

Will jacking up a pickup truck well above the way it came from the factory cause wheel bearing to wear out quickly. My neighbor has one of those jacked VERY high and he had bearing that wore out after only 3 months.

My guess is he has oversize tires and wheels with non stock offset putting lots of stress on the bearings.

Cheap bearing will do that. But on the other hand…jacking up the vehicle changes everything that the designers worked up for this vehicle.
He can expect more problems in the future.

I agree completely with @texases . A lift, in and of itself, will have no deleterious effects on the wheel bearing.

Can I assume that it was the front wheel bearings that failed? If your neighbors midifications included larger wheels and tires the bearing failure is likely the result of changing the offset of the wheel/tire.
