What tool do I need to remove the battery cables from the battery?

Every car I have owned has required TWO wrenches to remove or tighten the battery cables–at least one monkey wrench to hold the square part that you don’t want to turn, and a second monkey wrench or small ratchet to turn the nut that you need to loosen or tighten.

Sounds like you’re talking about this type of terminal . . . which is a cheapo aftermarket terminal
