What to look for in a Cadillac Allante?

I have heard good and bad about the Allante. If you have experience with one, would you share your thoughts on the car? Mechanical? Comfort? Ride/Drive? Expense to Maintain? Dependability? Is the hard top really something I would want – or use? Thanks!

Go Northstar or go home. The 4xxx engines are unreliable and underpowred.

Except for the body, it should not cost a lot to maintain. But the body is from Pininfarina. There were just a bit over 21,000 built in total. If you don’t drive too fast, the FWD won’t bother you.

I understand the electronic dash is a weak, and expensive, component.
