What are the best and most affordable options for taking care of this clear coat/paint damage?

Just need a cloth. It is a lot of work. I wouldn’t do it today, I’m getting too old.

???, MN Highway Patrol used 428 FE engines in their Ford cruisers. A dealer took me for a test ride, though my father was with me, salesman did not let me drive. I could afford it, but those maroon, two door plain Jane sedans were just too plain for my taste.
A friend had a Ford with the seven litre trim package, great torque and fast. The open differential with the skinny tires of the 60s resulted in laying down a strip of rubber for a block. Of course today’s turbo charged cars are quicker with limited slip diffs and much better tires and suspensions.

Now that I think about it, it was a 1964 model. Must have bought it in 66 or 67. Seems to me the patrol replaced a third of the fleet every year but I don’t know.
