Wet gear lever

I had to stop quick today. My ice water spilled into the gear shift lever. A mile down the road my rpms went up high and the car barely moving. Help! I need some advice 2006 hundai sonata

First is that an automatic or manual transmission?

If I move the stick to the right it drives fine. I did not down shift though.
