Welcome to the New Car Talk Community!

Depending on the system (which dictates which browser I’m using), I will do the write-ups in Notepad and then copy/paste them into the browser window. It’s been working for me, anyway.

I also noted that the little piece of paper looking icon just above with the “<>” in it will show me the HTML code, so I can do whatever I want in there and use the HTML tags I prefer.

By “Cute little box” I was was being sarcastic, as it’s irritating and anything but cute, but I mean the box you enter text in.

Gotcha. The site has become a PITA since the changeover.

No doubt this post will come across equally goofy.

Just curious, but do you have a "Preview" icon ?

No preview for me, on any platform.

That very nice little function disappeared when they turned on the editing functions. In my personal opinion, They should have just left it alone. The regulars had already figured it mostly out (granted with some assistance from yours truly), and while the intent is valid, this seems to be causing nothing but problems.
Not the least of which is I’ll have to kill the process and restart the browser as soon as I punch the “Post Comment” button.

and here I was thinking that I might behaving issues with my wireless keyboard when typing up a response. I’m just glad the text I’m typing is a bit larger than the rest of the text on screen, it makes typing a little easier since I’m using my TV as my monitor

I'm Having Problems Posting Anything. It's No Fun.

I get a page full of lines and the text box at the bottom that I have to scroll to in order to write..

I can't preview.

Everything gets double spaced. I'm not doing this intentionally.

The worst is that I get an error message every time I hit "Post Comment" and have to screw around to get back to even using the site. The last time I had to shut the thing down with the Task Manager. It was still locked up.

PITA.

I'm going to hit Post Comment now. I dread this. Wish me luck.

Condolences. Maybe IT people should be put on the mechanic flat rate pay system. If it's screwed up you redo it for nothing instead of charging again for a redo; a.k.a. a comeback. :--)

There's a 5 minute post! (seriously)

I am probably the most computer illeterate user here, but the site works perfectly for me as long as I use Safari. Sometimes FireFox 4 can’t even find the site. I just don;t like the lack of features from the old format.
