I am the owner of a 2002 Pontiac GrandAm. About 2-3 weeks ago, I started noticing a delay in my radio, digital numbers (on dash), and A/C start-up when I start the car. Shortly thereafter, the Service Vehicle Soon light came on. This routine was sporadic until the car wouldn’t start. It turned over fine, but wouldn’t budge. We disconnected the battery, had a diagnostic run, a local mechanic drove it and cranked it multiple times, and my dad drove it for a week and it was fine. Now, the service vehicle soon light and delay has sporadically started and the “Security” light came on once as well. Could this be a computer glitch? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Have your alternator’s output checked. I suspect that your alternator is dying.
clean the computer chip on your key.these get dirty all the time and if the security light is on and the car won’t start it’s the computer chip in the key. had it happen to me on my 1996 trans am.
