I have a VW Golf 2010 2.5l w/2k miles on, which makes a clicking noise on the rear passenger side. This noise started after the first 1000 miles. VW mechanics noise coming from leak detection pump and replace the said pump. However, the clicking noise is still there. Nowadays the same mechanic service say that such noise is normal. Should I trust them? Is that clicking really normal? After the 4th visit to VW mechanics, they said that an insulation sheet was placed intended to dampen the noise. No such a luck! This car needs a solution, not a band-aid. Please advise.
I own a 2009 Rabbit, with the same engine, and I have the same clicking noise in the same area. I first thought that it was gas swishing around in the tank. I never got it checked out, but I also have had no problems with the car. From what I’ve researched online, it sounds normal with regards to the LDP. I only hear it when I have the radio off, but I’m somewhat relieved that I’m not the only one who hears it.
