I did my timing belt at 90k miles with water pump. The 2nd change at 200k miles I skipped the water pump.
What type of adjustment does Honda use? different thickness shims (like the old Rabbit) or a screw with locknut(Air cooled VW) The shim technique was slightly time consuming. Air cooled VW’s ever 6000 miles the OP would not like that.
Please check back. I will post the information you requested here when I get it done. Is there a tool on this site that will send an email reminder when there’s a new posting?
Screw and locknut.
My '89 Accord and wife’s 95 Civic are screw and a locknut . . . don’t know what the '06 would be they changed the Honda engines somewhat (I’ve heard) one change was now Honda is using a timing chain, not a belt anymore. Rocketman
I drive a 98 Civic and I only get the valves adjusted when the timing belt is replaced. Based on the maintenance schedule in my owner’s manual, that is every 60,000 miles (96,560 km).
My car has a timing chain. Yipiee … I just saved several hundreds of dollars!!
