This thread reminds me of a doctors visit I had once. I had an infection and was first seen my an intern. The regular doc came in and began to quiz the intern, asking what steps she had planed. She replied that she would first send me down for a certain test. He would then ask what are you going to do if it is positive and she replied that she would prescribe an antibiotic.
Then he asked what if it was negative to which she replied that she would send me for another test. Again the same questions and answers. This went on for about ten tests when the doctor finally said, your answer for each of these is to prescribe the same antibiotic, so why do all these tests. It doesn’t matter what is wrong with her clutch, she needs to have a complete new clutch installed, I would assume that would include the pilot bearing. Adding a rear main seal might be good additional advice though.
