Truck dies!

I have a 1994 dodge ram reg cab short bed 2 wheel dr with a 5.2. When i first start the truck in the morning or after it has set for 5 or 6 hours it spits sputters and pops and backfires tries to die and is undriveable for about 15 mins. then its like you flip a switch and it just smooths out and runs great you can cut it off for 2 or 3 hours and it still starts and runs fine! Then the real funny part is after it smothes out it runs great untill i turn left it dies i can turn right and its fine going around a sharp curve or if i turn hard into a parking place it will just die! i have replaced the pickup coil, dis cap, rotor button, wires and wroughted them the specified way, plugs gaped at .035, non platum, coolant temp sensor, and throttle positon sensor! there is no check engine light on the stored codes are 12 and 37. i am at a loss plese help and this truck has no OBD so i cant see what is happing when its acting up! i hope this is enough info.

I hope i did not stump everyone

This has been discussed before, buy a fuel pressure guage and measure the fuel pressure.

it is at 40 psi even when it is acting up and when it dies it stays at 40 never drops

The cold starting issue does sound a lot like a coolant temp sensor issue - as in, the car doesn’t “know” its cold, so it runs to lean for cold starting. Then, that would be why it smooths out once it gets warm. Its like starting up an old carb system without choke. So you replaced the coolant temp sensor - but did you make sure that the PCM is actually getting proper signal from the CTS?

I am at a loss for the turning left/stalling part, but I wouldn’t necessarily assume these two things are the same problem.

the cold start has been a prob since i bought it the guy i bpought from thought it had jumped time but the turning left just started about two weeks ago i dont think they are related either no i have not checked the cts signal it sucks because it does not have a obd port to read things while it is running there are two connectors under the dash by the steering collum but no one has a com that will hook to it it is agravating and my trans went out about two hours ago about ten feet after it shifts into drive it is like you hit the e brake it bogs down the engine and throws you in to the windshild grrrrrrrrrrrrrr but i love it so i will be installing a trans and continue to pull my hair out on the other things that most likley is somthing silly
