I have a 2006 4runner SR5 with 44,600 miles. When coasting from speeds above 30pmh the car autpmatically slows down around 30pmh. It feels like the brakes have been pressed but of course they haven’t. A friend suggested it might be dirty transmission fluid or I need to have transmission flushed. Any ideas?
Whatever you do…NEVER flush your transmission fluid. If you need your transmission fluid changed have the pan dropped and a new filter installed when the fluid is changed. When coasting your engine is idling and an idling engine will not keep your vehicle up to speed. I would have your emergency brake checked and check for dragging brakes as well.

That maybe normal. Coasting in gear should cause your car to slow down, almost like a brake.
