Thanks for the incite. I’m sure a lot of parts stamped Toyota are not made by Toyota, especially when they’re made other than in Japan. Did your replacements last 10-15 years?
Yep. I’ve never kept track of how much is garbage and how much might be accurate.
I thought that might be true, but pursued in Colorado and we now have only emissions inspections, not safety. TPMS light isn’t a reason for failure to pass. It might trigger a visual inspection so low tire pressure wouldn’t be a problem with the dynamometer.
I imagine when one, whether OEM, fails, the others are close.
I want to say I heard something like this from the Car Care Nut, a You Tube channel by a guy who specializes in Toyatas/Lexuses
Per Tire Rack, way more states that require inspections will pass a car with a TPMS light on than states that will fail it.
For example in NY, they are required to check it and tell you if it is not working but it will not fail the car.
