What is the towing capacity of the 1989 Chevrolet S10 pickup? It has 4x4 and is a V6.
Had trouble getting a good answer with a search.
What I found: in 1996, the max tow capacity was 5500 lbs, but actual capacity is dependent on transmission type and gear ratio. Another site said 5000 lbs, with 4 speed auto; no mention of gear ratio.
Owner’s manual would have this info in it; don’t know if the Haynes manual addresses this, or not.
Automatic or Standard???
The 5-speed manual the towing capacity is 3500 (Class II).
The Automatic it’s 5000 (Class III).
