I have a 2006 Saturn Ion. I would like to know if it is possible [Safe?] to put on a tow hitch [for a utility trailer]? I would include stiffer shocks if this is possible.
Unless your manual says differently, “googling”, your tow weight is about !000 lbs ? If that’s the case, it certainly is safe provided you stay well within the rating. The tongue weight should not present a problem and stiffer shocks are unnecessary for occasional towing. IMO, I would keep the weight under 750 lbs for any small compact FWD car for safe handling and traction.
