Too-Fast Toyotas on Cruise Control

Have any of the unintended acceleration incidents occurred while the car was on cruise control? It seems to me that might help to answer the question about whether it’s the pedals/floor mats that are the main culprits or the electronics.

Unless the problem was specifically related to pedal position. CC now operates independently of pedal position unless operator intent to over ride it. But, it is a good thought.

IIRC, there have been reports of unintended acceleration while using cruise control. This is a big reason why NHTSA continues to look at the issue. It does not account for the documented cases of pedal wear/humidity or floor mat mislocation. It would be in addition to those.
