Timing Belt/Spark Plugs

I just had the timing belt replaced on my 2002 Acura TL-S. I also replaced three of the spark plugs myself and let the mechanic replace the three I couldn’t get to. Now the gas consumption is through the roof, and I can’t for the life of me figure out why. Could I have installed the spark plugs incorrectly? Is the timing off? The plugs are NGK (the ones suggested by the Acura manual).

Thanks!

It’s possible that the timing belt was installed one tooth off. Go back and let them look.
